Thinking of Halloween and the Feast of All Saints today, and the contrast between Halloween costumes, which are meant to attract attention to themselves, and the stained glass pictures of saints—which allow us to see light in all its multi-colored glory.
A saint is one through whom the light of God is made visible to our eyes.
We are all called to be saints! Open yourself toward the light of God. Clean off the dusty windows of your soul.
How will you let God’s light shine through you today?
“Nothing can bring us into close contact with the beauty of Christ himself other than the world of beauty created by faith and light that shines out from the faces of the saints, through whom his own light becomes visible” (Pope Benedict XVI)
